stressed out

Let’s face it we all have busy lives these days.  Even though we are busy we need to make and follow a “life plan”.  A life plan is an indispensable tool to help us live a better life.

It is recommended that everyone follow these six helpful tips:
1.    Concentrate on your priorities
2.    Envision the life you desire
3.    Look for trade-offs
4.    Try multi-tasking
5.    Find ways to cut corners
6.    Use stress management techniques

Without a specific and clear-cut life plan busy people will get burned out sooner or later.  Managing a variety of appointments, activities, and schedules every day can be exhausting, but there are things you can do to resolve this. All you need is a life plan and you can still live a full and meaningful life. Your life plan will enable you to get organized.

Concentrate On Your Priorities

The most essential parts of your life are your “core values“.  Make these your priority and concentrate on them at all times. Your spouse or significant other, your children, your health, and even your work are core values.

Go over your daily schedule and identify the tasks that do not correspond with any of your core values or priorities. Eliminate them because they are a waste of your time and energy. Only keep those that can actually contribute to your core values.

Envision the Life You Desire

Visualize the kind of life you want to have. The “law of attraction” is a powerful tool that can be used successfully in achieving your life’s dreams and goals. Imagine yourself having the life you desire as if it’s already a reality.

Get rid of any activities that do not help you fulfill that vision and add those that help you accomplish that desired life.

Look for Trade-Offs

If you say “yes” to every activity you will soon find yourself overwhelmed.  If you do decide to take on a new activity, you need to figure out which old activity you can eliminate in exchange. You can’t continually say “yes” to every request made of you or sooner or later you will run out of time and energy.  Instead you must “train” yourself to either say “no” to existing activities and remove them or say “no” to future activities.

Reducing needless things in your schedule and replacing them with more constructive ones can simplify your life. Taking a walk with your family rather than watching TV is a good trade-off.

Try Multi-Tasking

Multi-tasking allows you to complete several things at once and can undeniably save you a lot of time.  Combining activities can be of great help too. Take advantage of your time while talking on the phone and do some type of cleaning activity.

Find Ways to Cut Corners

Taking short cuts is a good way to cut corners.  As an example, in meal preparation use ready-to-cook products such as vegetables that have already been cleaned and cut. This will save you time when preparing meals.

Use Stress Management Techniques

When life gets too busy and you become worn out with all of life’s activities, besides formulating a new life plan it is time for you to start using stress management techniques. Stress management helps you deal with pressure-causing activities. Even if you can’t eliminate these stressful situations you can manage them so they don’t negatively impact you.
