I recommend using the WordPress platform to do this.  You can have your regular website URL as www.mydomain.com and install your blog as www.mydomain.com/blog.  Then all you have to do is post 2 to 3 articles on your blog each week.  Posting on a regular basis will help your site get noticed quicker by search engines.

The principle is simple – you put a link to a site, they put a backlinks to your site. There are a couple of important things to consider with link exchange programs. The first time the term “long tail search” was mentioned was in a Chris Anderson article for Wired. When Anderson was discussing this idea he wasn’t actually referring to SEO, but in relation to the fact that online places like Amazon make a lot of cash selling things that aren’t their best sellers. And the term “long tail” got its name from the graph which shows how items are sold on the Internet.

The best sellers are seen at a peak on the graph and then all other items show a long tail. The items which are not as popular are shown all along this long tail. And the fact that most of the sales are along the tail rather than on the peak was the point that Anderson was trying to make. This means that a business like Amazon can make more money on their sales of the less popular items when compared to the popular items.

When it comes to SEO and the “long tail search” it has been used to describe how some people act when they are browsing the web. When it comes to most items there will be some popular keywords that are frequently used.

But just like Amazon sales most of the keywords used are not the most popular but those in the long tail. So for those wanting to make sure that their website is as SEO friendly as it can be, they will have to also take into account the less popular keywords. For example if your website was selling sports shoes, it would pay to focus on more specifc keywords and not just “sport shoes”.

My most favorite way to get backlinks is by guest blogging and the second is by interviews.  My interviews consist of question and answer session sessions.

Many people that do SEO to promote their websites miss out on this great opportunity.  Another way people miss out is not using the long tailed keywords in their articles.  Some people look at that and say well I’m just going to be getting 20 searches a day for that keyword, but if you rank number one for that keyword, that is more traffic that is being sent your way.  It only takes about 20 to 30 minutes to construct an article or an hour if you’re really slow.

You can create a page for a life time investment and it could rank number one for many years.  I have a page that ranks number one and it has been doing so for 4 years now.  I always make a sale off of that page.  It’s a longer tailed keyword that has a low volume of searches.  I think a lot of people miss out on that.  I hit it big and earn a lot of automatic income from doing something just once.

When people do searches for those keyword phrases people have a good idea of what they want.  That is why the conversation rate is so high.  It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you get the people to the page you’ll make a sale.  Now you know some of my tips to getting website links.
